About Me

Living on the Sunshine Coast is a huge source of inspiration for artist Tiffany Morris-North. Her natural surroundings have played a part in her botanically inspired work throughout her life. Having grown up in Melbourne’s beachside suburbs and then living in the forests of the Dandenong Ranges has given Tiffany an appreciation of nature from the beginning and her interest in art has grown from a love of drawing and painting to engaging in many varied creative pursuits.

After completing her schooling in 1989 she spent 5 years travelling through Europe and studying prop making and visual merchandising at the London School of Decoration. On returning to Australia she followed creative passions by working in the film and television industry as a scenic artist and caterer and has undertaken further courses in furniture restoration, framing, visual merchandising and traditional book binding.

Her paintings and drawings are rich and textured, often resembling decorative wallpaper and fabric design. Her works lead her on a journey of discovery, not only of the elegance of nature but of the possibilities that each new experience can add to her passion for the creative spirit.

The onset of Covid and strict quarantine orders gave Tiffany more opportunities to create. She ordered a block of clay online and began her passion for ceramics. Her pottery practice has taken over as her preferred medium.
